hi guys. after countless hours of reading past posts on muffler choices lmao, i want to get a dynomax ultra flow(not sure of SS or welded) is there a difference in performance? it is for my 2004 dakota QC, 4.7L. good choice? i think it out does the super turbo but not 100% sure. this is just a straight up muffler swap , no other mods. does this require custom work to put this muffler in or is it a direct fit? if anybody has this set up, would you be able to throw me a part number for the muffler. thanks guys. much appreciated.

I would go with Dynomax welded race magnum muffler. 2 1/2 inch in and out flows appromiately 1200 cfm. As for part numbers, go to Dynomax website and look it up or call them for the info on your truck.

The bullet muffler will probably be louder than the welded race magnum. Less packing inside of it. Very aggressive exhuast note with your foot in it. Probably what I will install when I make the swap from the stock muffler. It will be some Dynomax muffler that is for sure. A friend of mine had one installed on his truck and was very happy with it. Do you race your truck? What are your times?

Let me know what you think about the performance gain and the sound of the bullet muffler when you form an opinion after you make the muffler swap?

gee dave i really dont think its a real bullitt muffler, thats what they called it on the website i got the part number from. it is really only the race magnum or in other words its an ultra flo- welded muffler , thats all dave. sorry if i mislead you into thinking it was the actual muffler for the dynomax racing application. if u still want me to give you the feedback i will but it will be a couple of weeks until the truck gets shipped in from the factory.

Same muffler I used to run on my last Dakota which had true duals. I now have a 94 Dodge Dakota CC with a 318 that I have modified. The exhaust system is still stock because I have been undecided about which muffler to go with this time. I wanted to stay with a single exhaust system for the time being to see how good I could get the single exhaust system to work. While I am like a lot of people on this site that like the sound of these performance mufflers, there are times when don't care for all that added attention and noise. And since I have never just added a performance muffler to the otherwise stock exhaust system, I don't know how loud it will be and how it will affect performance. I am not sure that your imput will help me since your truck has a 4.7. But, I will take any advice to help me make up my mind. Performance mufflers almost always mean a louder exhaust note.
