What do people think about Gibson headers and exhaust systems. I'm thinking of getting a set of headers and a swept side exhaust for an 00' RT.

I've heard a large single exhaust will be better than a smaller diameter dual exhaust.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the best exhaust systems in the world. Deep mellow tone, with throaty bark. Easy install, high quality materials. I love mine, I'm on my second Dakota with my second Gibson and would buy another for my next truck. American Thunder and Borla guys compliment my Gibson on the sound and style. Something to be said about that!

I have installed Gibson headers and dual sport mufflers on a 03 QC w/ 5.9L and the sound is awesome. The sound is great at any speed. Some work had to be done to the passenger side header for a prefect fit but overall easy install. Day after install, spanked a BMW 325i.

I've got Gibson shorty headers and single sweptside cat back. Couldn't be happier with the sound. The cat back was installed by a local Midas shop for $40. I did the headers myself in an afternoon. It was my first header install. It was relatively easy, but the engine offset(toward the drivers side) made things quite snug. Passenger side was a breeze. I teamed the Gibson parts with a 68mm Fastman TB and Intense Performance Z-tube w/9" Powerstak filter. It sounds awesome. When I can restrain my right foot I can get around 16.5 mpg in city driving. More often than not I simply have to mash the gas, then I usually get around 13mpg.

I put the headers on my 4.7 and got a very noticable increase in low end torque. Gibson claims about 10 hp, but doesn't post the torque gain. I'd guess around 20 ft.lbs. I highly recomend them.

Just installed the cat-back along with a magnaflow cat on my 94 5.2 and I'm loving it.
I'm realy happy with the sound and everything. Its much louder than my friend gen 3 with the same exhaust.

Anyway, now that I have the cat back I'm thinking of going with headers and I just wanted to get some feed back on installation. I'm concerned with breaking the manifold bolts and was wondering if I this is someting to lookout for. Other than that the installation seems fairly straight forward.
