For the record: 205rwhp @ 3300rpm and 280ft-lbs @ 3200rpm.

Those aren't the actual peaks. The peaks were 220HP and 346ft-lbs of torque. I straightened the graph at those peaks out to match the rest of the curve. The best part of this run was that the HP stayed above 200 from 3650 to 4450rpm.

I drove the truck 30 miles to get to the dyno and it had no time to cool down before the run. The truck sounded perfect. I stood behind the exhaust so I could watch and listen to it. No soot, smoke, or misses through out the entire session.

Customers inside the store started coming out to the test bay to see what I had because it sounded so good. Everyone wanted to know what I had done to it to make it run so good. I told them it was 100% stock right down to the MOPAR oil filter.

One guy that was behind me had a Corvette he trailered to the dyno. He was pulling his Vet with a Chevy Silver. He said then that he was going to go buy him an R/T to pull his Vet with. He had already dynoed his 350 chevy Silverado and it fell way short of my run. I had to break the bad news to him that they don't make R/T's anymore. He was really dissapointed. He asked, "you mean I can't buy a new one for no kind of money?" I told him NOPE. He was really dissapointed.

Another note that goes against comon practice is that I was running 87 octane. I forgot and accidently filled it up with 87 insted of 93 yesterday. It was too late by the time I realized what I did. I just went on with it. So, no cool down time and sh!ty gas and it still had over 200rwhp for almost a full 1000rpms.

What is with all the 180-190rwhp numbers I see everyone posting?

with stock exhaust, m1, tb, pcm, kngen2, 180 stat.
i have basically identical numbers at 3300 rpm.

those mods mostly help up top.
Hp peaked at 4700 rpm.

and at 5000 rpm
240 hp.
250 tq.

what are your 5000 rpm numbers?

My 5000 numbers were a little better than I expected. My best pull had 180hp at 5K. But, there was an unusual dip at 5k. At 4800 and 5200 the hp was 190 and it stayed at 190 to the rev limiter. Same for the torque. The best pull for the torque was 180ft-lb at 5K. But the weird thing is it went up at 5200 to 190ft-lb. It did this on every pull. It almost looks as if the valves floated just enough to let more air into the cylinders.. Who knows?

Another thing that contradicted the whole factory torque curve was that I had a flat RW torque from 3K to 3800. The factory specs show a peak at 3K. I flattened out at 3K and then it fell off at 4K. I called it 280 but it was over 280 from 3200 to 3800. It fluctuated between 285 and 290. The 280 I posted was my worse run. It was also the run the engine was the coolest. With 6 pulls, each of the first 5 pulls netted consecutively higher numbers. On the 6th pull the engine had been allowed to cool off a little (not much)(I think it may have heat soaked) and it went down on power, but it was still higher than the 4th pull. I think I'm running too cold. There's no logical reason for the HP and Torque to go up with each pull except for maybe it is too cold.

my dyno shows the same 10' dip at exactly 5000 rpm.

on your numbers..and mine for sure...they were taken using STD...corrected for SAE might be a tad lower.

at any rate..you can see the difference clearly here between stock and the basic mods i had.
One item i left out..you show 346' tq peak, best i can prove is about 330' at 3400.

but the torque curve is much broader fatter on mine mostly because of the m1.

my chart shows air fuel mixture at 12...if i was at 13.5 might make 20 hp or so more.
Need a pcm reflash set map voltage to .86 or so i think.

have installed gs headers and spintek true duals..quite noticeable improvement.
.need to redyno...need 1.7 rockers..ignition upgrade..maybe 52 mmFB TB..

Bone stock I got 189 rwhp with a G-Tech Pro.

51.75 mm TB
K&N FIPK
Mopar headers
Gibson 3" cat back
MP PCM
Mobil 1 oil

all that got me 217 @ 4400 on a dyno

I was pretty disappointed

Islander,
3 out of the 6 pulls hit between 330 and 332ft-lbs @ 3200. That is closer to your runs and probably more representive to what I'm actually making. I think those 2 runs I made that were so high were flukes. On those 2 runs, the rest of the pull was the same as the other 4 except the spike at 3300-3400rpm was higher. The other 4 runs were almost identicle. That was a very narrow spike in the curve also. You go about 200rpm to either side of that 346ft-lb spike and the torque falls off to 280-290ft-lbs. I want it to stay above 300ft-lb longer. I want it to hit 300ft-lbs at 2K and stay above that to 4K. I maybe wanting too much. I think the only way I can do this is raise the compression.

wip..i'm above 300' tq to 4250 rpm.
with the basic intake mods and stock exhaust.

with headers and duals now installed..i have no doubt the curve is broader/higher than it was.

I also don't want to loose too much bottom end. I don't mid loosing 50-100ft-lb below 1500rpm since the truck never operates in that range. Even when I drive in town I turn the OD off so it stays around 2K. If I had 300+ft-lbs on tap at rpms over 2K I would have no problem staying in front of those new 5.4L Triton Fords.

wip...you are'nt going to lose 100' of torque below 1500 rpm with the regular basic bolt ons including gs headers and true duals...low end has slight loss and a hell of lot more mid and top end.

F' the tritons..go for Lightenings.

I may change my mind after a few mods, but for right now, all I want is mid-upper 14's. That shouldn't take much. If I can squeeze low 14's out of it without drastically hampering driveability then I'll go for it. I don't see 13's happening without killing fuel mileage and driveability. I hope I'm wrong. My 68 Charger was at the edge of still being easily driven in town and it weighed 400lbs less than my Dak and had 40 more cubes. I had to stroke it to a 451 to finally get it where I wanted it.
