Dropped by the local dealership and saw the new brochure for the 05 dakota and all it's specs. Unfortunately there will be no hemi for a bit. The new dakota is basically the same style with the new grill look. They won't have a regular cab, only the extended cab and quad cab and the engine options are the regular 4.7 and the HO 4.7, once again, no hemi. But who wants a hemi when you can have the srt and a viper engine?

I was sure Dodge would put a Hemi in the Dakotas but like drew said, the new specs on them didn't list the Hemi at all. I just e-mailed Dodge about this and told them that I would buy a Hemi Dakota if they made one. If enough people e-mail them maybe they will add it to the 'o5 Dakotas or the '06s. By the way Tundra, I have nothing against Toyota but you don't see me bashing your truck in a Toyota forum.

Rumor has it that the Hemi will be offered in the Dakota, just not in the first year. I guess we will have to wait and see.

About the only way it would break down would be towing a Tundra off the trail.

I heard that dodge was gonna wait a year or two and then come out with an SRT-8 Hemi Dakota, but thats just a rumor. By the way, has anyone heard anything about the 6.1 Hemi that thehemi.com had pics of, I bet that might be put in the Ram and the 5.7 could be bumped down to the Dakota. Then maybe you could have an SRT-8 Dakota with the 6.1.
