I own a 98 2.5L, and wanting to know what the redline is in each gear. I don't have a tach, (standard gauges). I really don't feel like installing one. Thanks

Forgive me for asking a silly question. Why ask where the red line is if you don't have, nor want a tach?

Why would you even want to flirt with the redline on a stock engine? You don't have the cam profile, cylinder head flow, or oiling system to perform in a high rpm range.

Let me try this again. I DID mean MPH in each gear. I have no tach, and I want to wind the engine up in each gear. EXAMPLE: 1st-23MPH, 2nd-40......so on and so forth. Got me? Thanks

depends

Ok darnusmc, this is what you do. First you need to find out your;
-exact tires size
-rear diff ratio
-redline in RPM's for stock engine
-Ratios for your first, second, third, gears.

Once you have these numbers, go to this website
http://www.intercotire.com/html/gear-ratio.htm
It will have a plug and play chart for you to put in all the values. For transfer case just use the value of "1". Plug in all the blanks except for MPH and use one transmission ratio at a time. Then push the calculate button. This will give fairly accurate MPH shift shift numbers.

try this

Hold it in gear until the rev-limiter, then shift 2mph below that! Do it for each gear! No guarantee that you wont break anything, but you might get lucky!
