Hey Walt.
I was checking out pavementsucks.com and saw your truck on there. It says 35" boggers though and a 440 big block
I'm not sure if you've dumped a load of money into your truck or maybe someone is just using one of your pics because the discription is off
1987 instead of 1988
Long bed instead of short bed
Front and Rear lockers.

Just thought I'd ask

Here's a link to it

i dont think that is walts, unless he has done major work and somehow changed it from an 88 to an 87, also managed to cram a 440 in it, as well as all the sound stuff, changed gear ratios, and got new tires

Yeah, I figured it wasn't. I'm sure if he had put 35's on it, we would have been the first to know and I think he would have taken out the IFS to swap in his solid axle.
The discription being wrong just tips it off that someone is using his picture. I thought he should know.

Too bad the link doesn’t work anymore. I would like to have seen what the tool was posting. Unfortunately, the real Dakota is parked for the summer. It looks like I spun a crank bearing. I’m not going to put any cash into rebuilding the V6. I would rather wait a little while and buy a new crate motor and tranny for it. I’m thinking the new Mopar Performance 401 stroker motor bolted up to a 46RH from a 95 Ram. So far, best price I’ve found for the motor is $5200 and another $2200 for a rebuilt tranny. Still need to do a little research.

You ought to be able to find a 360 Ram or Van in the junkyard and rebuild it with a speedtweaks or KRC strocker kit. The tranny would just need a good shiftkit and torque converter. Just check it over for bad seals. They have rebuilt trannies on ebay from time to time also.
Good luck and keep us informed. Are you gonna attack the axle swap too?

Walt, your creating a monster man.
Your just incrediable my friend. Making the baddest GenI dak in the universe. Funny how someone would take your trucks pict and pile a load of Sh!t up like that and pass it off as their own. That truck site must not know sh!t either. A 440ci engine, Boggers?, you run MT bahas right? Crazy world out there. Good luck in your motor hunt.

sorry guys, i reported it to the webmaster, he deleted the pic, acount, and everything,

he said he had a 440 bored .060 over with performace headers, like a 6 in trailmaster susp and a 3 in trailmaster body lift plus heavy duty torsion bars for another 2", also it was a 87, with 35" boggers, also a couple amps, 2 10" subs (i was wondering where in hell he would have put them, along with the 3 amps he claimed he had, 1 to each sub and 1 to the 6x9s in the back) also siad it was a long bed, i think thats aboiut it

LOL! Great! ;)

I decided that I just don’t have the free time or the patients to buy a junkyard motor and tranny rebuild them. I would rather just spend the cash for a new crate motor and a decent rebuilt tranny. Then later, I could put the bulk of my efforts into a straight axle/suspension conversion. Eventually, I would like to do what Petersons Four Wheel and Offroad did with the Red QuadCab a few years ago and fabricate a four-link suspension for the front and a five-link suspension for the rear. I’ve been drawing it on the backs of bar napkins for the last 3 years and have a pretty good idea of what I need to do and where to get the parts. But for the time being, I’m just going to leave the truck parked until I have the majority of the parts, pieces and details together.
