I'd give 'er a good coat of some quality wax beforehand and hose the hell out of 'er afterwards. Salt = bad news.

I live in Florida and do alot of my offroading at the beach. Keep a good coat of wax on the truck. Don't get the truck in the water any more than you have to. After you leave, within a day or two hose off the under side of the truck really good. Make sure you get all the sand off from under it. I usually do it right when I get home. A far as under coating, I've heard people say its great and some say don't bother. Personal choice I guess. I dont see where it would hurt anything other than the wallet. Just by doing the above I have never had any problems with rust. Just out of curiosity, where are you from?

A beach permit can be had at Robert Moses State Park. It costs 30 or 40...I dont remember. Make sure you get there fast though because there is a cutoff...They stop giving them out during the summer and then start again in the fall.

Sorry for the late reply..havent been here in a while..Yes there are requirments..(not too stricly enforced)..The requiremtnts are:

Shovel

You can also do some beach offroading at Smith Point Beach, Long Island during, the summer, you do not need an annual permit, you can buy a day use permit. I use to go there a lot, but I now live in South Florida, but when ever I go to New York , I go to Smith Point.
