I have a 93 4x4 dakota with 318 and do a fair bit of offroading in the messy stuff when its around. How many of you guys have headers and go offroading? Does it have any negative effects on the hearders as they get wet and muddy?

No bad effects at all! Why would it be any different than the stock exhaust manifold? The headers add some extra hp's and burn off any water or mud that gets on there from their high heat. Have experienced NO problems with my headers at all...

I guess I should say, header. Not headers since it's an inline 6.

I bought mine from www.buymopar.com. I think they are JBA's, with "Mopar" written all over the package when I recieved it. I know from experience that Edelbrocks are expensive, but worth it. You should look at how thick the flange is, as that is a good indicator of its quality (and price).

the only problem i had when my truck was jacked up was that the mud burned to the header...it's there until i scrape it off with a wire brush.

Try the summit truck headers. They are like 169.00 i think. They work pretty well, just go clean them up and get em coated.

Look around.

Hooker Headers Part #5803-1

I did a quick search and didn't find anything promising. You might have to have a local place special order them for you.

Make sure & read the footers because it looks like some modification will be needed to install those.
