Subject: How big on stock rims?
IP: Logged

Message:
I've got a 2001 QC 4x4 4.7 auto 3.55. How big can I go in a tire upgrade on stock 15x7 rims and still avoid rubbing on the trail? How big if I install a 3 inch body lift first? I'd prefer not to mess too much with changes to the stock suspension and steering if I can. Obviously the speedo would have to be reset. Thanks in advance.

If yours is a 2001 then you should have 16inch rims. However, on 15x7's you can run 32x11.50's with no lift and no problem. Thats what I had before my lift. With a 3 inch body lift you can run 33x12.50's on 15x8's with very minor rubbing which is fixable or even 32's on 15x8's. Also the 16 inch equivalent, 305x70x16's or 285x75x16's.

Thanks for the quick response. They're definitely 15x7 's. Maybe it's a Canadian thing, but that was the standard wheel on me truck.

The 16x8 rims come as part of a package on the 01 Daks...I have the SLT Plus package which upgraded the rims and tires from 15x8 to 16x8
with 265 70 16 tires (31"s)
