It would be great to hear from those who have done solid axle swaps, to see how the long term wear and tear of these swap are doing. Things that have been changed, things that have broken, or new recommendations. help the new guys

i have a lot of miles on mine and no real problems so far. the front boxed section of frame rail is pretty thin compared to reg c channel frames and merits some consideration as far as how you mount things to it. this wouldnt be a problem for me but my bosses wife parked her new vw beetle up a hill without the e brake and the impact tore a bolt head part way through the frame. it was a big hit though, it slid the truck over 2 feet to the right. other than that the truck is beautiful on and off road.

It's been nearly a year since mine was done. Have got around 10K miles on it. Wheel it nearly every weekend too. Absolutely no probs.

But yours is kinda a loaded question. With custom work, you're really getting what you pay for - regardless of the project.

The only thing I *would* recommend to anyone doing this is a better steering box. The factory 3 bolt is weak. Generally a solid swap means larger tires. The factory box is hardly enough for a year of wheeling with 31's.

I had a custom, HD 4 bolt box built and it steers super easy. A year of wheeling and rock crawling, it still has ZERO play.
