Has anybody put the Edelbrock IAS shocks on their trucks? I am wondering if they are worth the price. Any comments, pro or con would be nice. Thanks!

I recently put on a set of new 32 x 11.50 BFG All-Terrain KO's on my 1999 Dak Sport Club Cab 4x4 (it came stock with 31 x 10.50 Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires mounted on 15"x8" rims ... the latter of
which I used to mount the new BFG's). At the same time, I went with the Edelbrock IAS Performer shocks (as I already had a set of those on my 2000 Jeep TJ Wrangler ... and I really liked them). Man, what a difference on my Dak. The ride is a bit stiffer, but it's great ... much less body roll and generally much more stability. I definitely recommend them.

By the way, I got the set of IAS shocks on-line (actually, you have to call to order) from The Part Source for $69.95 each (with free shipping).

I looked at the IAS shocks but decided to go with the Rancho 9000 series. I love turning them up to 5 for hard cornering and down to 1 when I want slow crawl over deep ruts. also nice on a bumpy freeway ride, save your kidneys by softening the suspension.

The edelbrock shock does soften up on the trail. It has what they call an "inertia valve" that is quite unique. My uncle uses em on his 3" lifted TJ. I would love to find a set for a Dakota with the TC 5.5 .

Just an update; sorry to bring back such an old thread...

www.summitracing.com has Edelbrock IAS Twin-Tube Shocks on clearance from $49.95 down to $19.98.

These are the shocks I just ordered for my 1999 4x4 Dakota, if your truck differs, it may require a different model number shock.

These ones I'm referring too, are model number...
EDL-20179

They have limited numbers, I think they are sold out of the front shocks, I only needed the rears.

Good tip - someone else mentioned that a month or two ago - so I've had the twin tubes a couple weeks now and very pleased. Most of the tendency of the Dak jumping to the side on bumpy turns is gone; and that's with my tires at 45 psi. Good cure for the lousy valving in the stock shocks.
