Hey Steve are you a 4wd or 2wd?? I'm a '00 2wd V6'er and I'm gonna try Fabtech's 2" leveling kit with a 3" body lift and try to squeeze 33's under there. If you're a 4X4 and have the stock 15X8" rims I know a friend of mine who runs 33's on his stock 4X4 and hasn't even touched the torsion bars (just had to trim a little). As far as having enough power goes, your gearing will make all the difference. 3.90s, 3.92s, or 4.10s will work fine, but 3.55s will be a pain.

speaking from experience... no. I have this setup on my 4x4 and there is no problem at all. I've never trimmed or touched the torsion bars. There is frame rub at full turn but with some modification to the steering stops, this can be eliminated. I have 3.55 gears and a 5 speed. Speedo is slightly off, but that's about it. (I went from stock 31s to 33s)

Can you give more details about the mods to the steering stops? I'd like to put 33's on my 2000 if I can do it without a lift or cutting.

there is another discussion on this subject here in the offroad forum. I'm not sure what the stops look like on the 2000. Mine is a 99 and from what I understand, this may be one of the things that was changed when the trucks became rack and pinion.

by the way... 33s without a lift is fairly ambitious. good luck.

hey brucemoose, how do find the 33's effect the
performance of your v6, with 3.55 gears? i have a 98
with a 3" suspension lift, with a V6 and 3.55's and was
considering 33's or 32's.

i have the smae setup on my dak...v6/5spd/33s/3in body lift/ and 3.55 gears, and i have never had any problems with it. i go fourwheelin at least twice a month, and the only rubing that i have is against the frame at full lock. i wouldn't suggest adjusting your steering stops, because if you get wheels with a different offset, the rubbing goes away.

I have a 99 4x4 with 32 x 11.5's everything is stock otherwise. I do have a little frame rub when almost to the stops. How hard is abjusting the stops to prevent this? thanks

I got a 98 cc v6 4x4 with the body lift and 33" baja claws. Works absolutely great. BTW I have an automatic tranny and 3.92 gears. If I had a 5-speed it wouldn't be so bad, but this truck is REALLY slow. If you don't mind having a slow truck (its slow with the stock 31's anyways) I'd say go for it. Add a roll bar and kc's and youll really be turning some heads. My truck looks pretty badass for a slow as hell mid-size.

How deep can that pond possibly be?
