 Subject: 4wd problems

I own a 93 ext. cab dakota with a 3.9. When
engaged into 4wd a clinging noise comes from the
front end. I don't know what the problem is but
if anyone could help me I'd really be thankful
because the whether is starting to get bad and I
may need to use the 4wd. the noise occurs after
the truck is starts to

I have a 93 with a 5.2 and am no expert but let me suggest a few things.
Have you greased your u-joint on your front drive shaft? Maybe bad u-joint(s) up front.
