Spray in. Line-x or Rhino.
Drop ins are slippery, trap water and debri between the liner and the bed, ruin the paint, cause rust, etc. Spray in eliminates these problems and to me just looks better.

I agree with Hawkeye. The spray in liners are more expensive initially, but they can help prevent costly rust repairs down the road.

Spray-on is the way to go. They can cost a couple of hundred dollars to get it professionaly done but you can do it your self for only about $60. That's what I did and it looks great!

I went with an ArmaCoat spray in liner.
It was about $340 for my 2001 QuadCab.

It is based on a "Hot Spray" system.
It dries in minutes, and you can haul in
it the same day. They showed me pictures
of a jeep that was sprayed in and out
with this product. It creates a very hard
permanent surface.

See them on the web.

Do not get Ultimate Linings. They are the same as Rhino Liner (Canada). This is different from Rhino Linings (USA). Ultimate Linings is garbage. It will rip if you haul anything other than your couch cushions. I have an extra-thick coating, as well, the color and texture have faded. I paid $400 for it here in Washington state. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get the crap off so I can put Line-X in.

Rhino Liner has been great for me (USA).
From what I've heard.. if you get it any color other then black it causes problems w/ the strength of the coating. That might be why yours ripped. If you do end up putting Line-X in. Stick w/ the black color.

Every liner will eventually fade..

Mine's the stock black color. It ripped because they have a bad product. That's it. Just wanted SDsurf and any others to know to stay away from Ultimate Linings. Mine has rarely been used and is covered by a weatherproof, ARE fiberglass tonneau. BOTH the texture and the color began to noticeably fade after 6 months. There's no excuse for this. It was my mistake to go with them, don't make it yours.
