Subject: want my 4x2 to stand like a 4x4

If I had the cash I woulda went with a 4x4, but I didn't, but I would still like my 99 4x2 to stand as tall as a stock 4x4 (when I park next to my uncle's '00 4x4, the "papa truck next to baby truck" comments are embarassing!). I would like to achieve this without a lift kit if i can help it. would 30x9.50 75R15 (i have the 15x7 rims) BFG All-Terrain T/A KO's give me the height I'm looking for without making the wheel well look too full?

I understand some people live in a budget ... the easiest way to make your truck look like a 4x4 is to buy a 3 in body lift and some 2in coil spacers.

You will also have to replace your shocks as you will wind them out but not necessary right away. but highly recommended.....

a 3 inch body lift is relatively inexpensive about $100 and coil spacers about $35... It takes two people to install it in about 3-5 hours or take it to your local 4x4 shop and they will be able to install it there.

You will also need to buy Rims 15 x8 will work and you will need to trim your fenders a little .... fact of life ..

I recomend that you buy 32 x 12.5 Muds (Pro Comp) is a good brand tire at a reasonable price. Mount them on 15 x 10 rims (recommended) or 15 x 8 rims.

That should do it.

The only draw back is that your truck is going to feel real stiff. This should hold you over till you get a suspension lift.

This is how I started out.

I have a 4x2 which stands taller than the stock 4x4 to check it out go to
