I am thinking about putting 31x11.00x16" Super Swamper Thornbird series tires on my 2002 dakota 4x4. will that size tires fit w/o any problems. And are they very loud?
Thanks.

The tire will fit fine, maybe a pinch of rubbin in the rear front corner. As for loudness, buy a good stereo, youll quickly forget about that nice hum.

You heard anything about the 30x11.50x15 Swamper SX? Want them on my 15x7 Am Racing Notro's. Have been told they would run on a 7in rim. Was skeptical at first but was told several times. What about steering stabilizers? Need it for my 1990 2wd Dak. Thanks for the info.

I have a three inch body lift for my 2000 dodge dakota sport. I am interested in putting a set of 33x12.50-15LT super swamper thornbirds tires on my truck. I would like to know if thier will be any rubbing or problems that might come with putting big tires on my truck. I was also wondering if any of you have done any modifications to the drive lines or rear ends to compinsate for the big tires. Thanks for the help

Oh yeah, speaking of steering stablizers, i wonder if it's possible to put one on a 2wd? Been thinking of doing it ever since but never saw a 2wd with one.

Joe e. I have 11.5 MT/R's on stock 7" rims and it works
fine. If you go to your run of the mill tire shop ,they will
look in their little book and tell you "my god there is no
way that will fit. the world will end if you put 11.5 tires on
a 7' rim". But if you go to a decent 4X4 shop, they'll tell
you no problem. people put 12.5" wide tires on 8" rims
all the time, so 11.5" wide tires on 7" rims is the same
thing. go for it!!!!

Yeah 31's should fit, but if you go with thornbirds, i for one will laugh at you if i saw you driving down the road. But waste... i mean spend your money any way you want.

Megan, where you from and how old are you, might be able to help you out ;)

To answer the original post, yes they will fit no problem. I have 31x11.50's and on stock 15x8's they just touch the frame rail at full lock. Only enough to rub a little paint off after 3 years so...

thornbirds are bad tires b/c? so what if the bias ply and ride rough when cold (due to flat spots being formed when parked some where). if your worried about how a good mud tire rides your in the wrong sport. ive got 30x11.5 TSL/SX all the way around on my stock 87 2wd dakota and they do rub a lil bit at full lock and stuff but i can deal w/ that.

From what I have seen on chevy's you should be able to put 31x11's on a k2500. But for future reference, don't ask chevy fullsize questions on a midsize dodge forum.
