I just got a 2002 4.7 dodge dakota sport 4x4 regular cab. I want to put a 2" suspension lift on it. Does anyone know any links to the best suspension for the smallest dollar can be found.

Will this mess up my gas milage bad?

Anyone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe at this time there are NO suspension lifts available for 2k and up Daks.

A lot of us are waiting for them to come out...

As far as mileage... well that really has more to do with the tires that you use. If you simply raise your Dak without changing tire size, your mileage should stay the same. Aerodynamics should not affect things too much.

That is correct there are no Suspension lifts out yet the earliest I've found was Trail Master said sometime around Christmas they didn't say before or after and how many months on either side. Performance Accessories has a 3" body lift out that works and is easy to do by your self. As far as tires I've actually heard of gas milage going up because the tires have to spin less to go the same distance. As odd as that sounds that happened to me on my last truck and I think it happened to Hawkeye on his DAK.

Hopefully, Rancho will get their kit out soon. Might be in Jan. or Feb... I guess thats my only benefit to having a 2wd, they make kits for those, weird huh!

Hey Knobbyman-have you put the body lift on your truck already? I was just wondering, I would love to see what it looks like if you have (or are going to). And if you are... what tires are you gonna throw on?

I'm waiting to see what Suspension lifts come out. In the mean time I'm going to redirect my $$ to Steel Skid plates, Off-Road lights, new front bumper w/ winch mounts, and a CB-Radio. *that's the short list* Once the suspension lifts come out I'm going to see what it takes to run 33's I think what I'm going to end up doing is getting a set of beadlocker wheels and put some TSL boggers on those and then on my factory wheels I'm going to put Wrangler AT/S of the same size... That's the idea anyway we'll see what happens when the $$ starts flowing and the lifts come out.

I totally agree with Hawk. Whiplash is a performance shop (out here in California), not a long established suspension manufacturer. 10" is A LOT of lift, and your truck's geometries will suffer. Most likely, a significant amount of modifications will need to happen for that much lift to work properly.

If and when a 5.5" suspension lift is offered, add a 3" body lift and 35's should not be hard to fit.

I just found out that Rancho is coming out with a 3 to 4 inch lift sometime next year so i think I'll wait for that one based on your comments. Frankly I called around and most people have never even heard of whiplash. Oh well I guess it's abody lift for now. Question thought is there much rubbing with the 33s when you put them on with a body lift?
