Ok, so maybe that didnt sound right. Here is my tale, yesterday after a good rain I was driving home and saw this girl I sit next to in class on a rough section of dirt road with her Tracker mini-suv off the road in a shallow ditch that was only about a foot deep. her passenger side front and rear tires were in the ditch and you could see where she had burried herself pretty bad by just getting on the gas after she was stuck. I have no idea why she took this road since there are 2 other paved ones that only take her a little further out of the way but I didnt ask her, she looked to good. I backed up my dak and made a little small talk and then looked foe a place to hook up. I almost started to cry when I saw the factory tow hooks on her mini-suv and remembered the the work I did to install them on mine which it didnt come with. I hooked up the tow starp and prayed the Pro Comp A/T's were worth their price. I made sure hers was in Neutral and put my tranny in 1st and the t-case in 4lo. I couldnt believe, I barely had to feather the gas and slowly but surely, I freed that little Tracker. She was so glad I got her unstuck and that she didnt have to call a tow truck. The only bad sides to the situation, I got my school clothes pretty mudy and I didnt get her number. I also am wondering if I pulled her out right? I mean, should I have had her in the vehicle and giving it gas as I pulled?

It depends on the situation...i mean if you didnt get her number...was it worth it? Oh.. you wanted advice on pulling her out. Sorry, my bad.

It too, depends. If someone is really stuck, yes have them in the vehicle and just having it in drive/reverse and slowly turning the tires will push the mud/dirt away from the tires and help free themselves.
When you have a situation like you did, with a DAK pulling a Tracker...i really dont think it would have mattered too much. The weight of your vehicle was more than enough to more her.

So, in your case...ahh in the "unstuck" catagory, you did just fine.
In the phone number department...well... ill leave that one alone.

As for the pull, Yes you did good. As Dakota said, it depends on the situation. Usually having the other person in their vehicle giving it a little gas is a good thing. But, If you get someone who doesnt know what they are doing and give it too much gas, then when they finally do get some traction they can go flying into you. Just have to look at each situation and the driver.

Oh come on guys, lets just chalk up the phone number thing to inexperience. I was afraid she would smash right into me once she was freed. What can I sat, live and learn.

If I read it right you sit next to her in school. Get the number the next day in class. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, I would have to say that getting her Tracker unstuck is the best pick-up line!! She'll have to give you her number now.

..."oh I remember you... you're the one with that big, powerful dakota that pulled me out. Say... what are you doing this weekend?"

Thats all she wrote!
