Personally i have swampers and they are bigger than the size stated. My 32s are the same exact size as 33s bfg mud terrains so i would say you will need at least a 2" body lift to fit the 31" swampers.

The 31s should fit fine on it and if you do need any more room for them you can just crank the torsion bars up a little. No need to get the body lift unless you are planning to go with 33s or bigger on a 3rd gen Dakota.

That would be sweet!

They could fit with only minor fender trimming.

I've seen those.. Peterson's 4 wheel and offroad says you'll have to have some very strong axles to run em.. Dana 60's aren't enough

That depends on how much you spend on the Dana 60 it could be strong enough for the right price.

You got to figure that these tires are as big or bigger that most tractors have and weigh 200 lbs or more each! Thats a lot of rubber to turn so it will put a lot of strain on a lot of things, including Dana 60s.

Kota Kid said "You got to figure that these tires are as big or bigger that most tractors have and weigh 200 lbs or more each!" take a time out and understand before you throw your 2 cets in. is that too much to ask?

I already answered your question refer to above posting.

THEY WILL FIT ON A 3RD GEN DAKOTA
My 99 had 31x10.50s stock, she now has 33x12.50s.

And by the way i was refering to the 54s when i said, "You got to figure that these tires are as big or bigger that most tractors have and weigh 200 lbs or more each!", not the 31s you are interested in but they will weigh in at probably 50 lbs give or take. My sister had them on her ram they looked to small on that.
