I'm having trouble finding replacement control arm bushings.

Most I find listed are for 2wd, I need 4wd bushings.
Does anyone know if there is a difference between 2wd and 4wd (I would think there must be), or site to find the correct bushings?
Enegry Suspension does not list any.
Daystar does not list any either.

2001 Qud Cab 4X4, 4.7

Thanks

Has no one changed control arm bushings?

Am I the only one looking for control arm bushings?

I found Prothane website which claims to has some for 4x4 Dakota, but have yet to get an answer from them.

Has anyone else found any?

Thank you beerhat, for your response. I did a very extensive search before posting.

Yes I did google them (Prothane). I even called them and emailed them with no results.

I have found a place with poly bushing for under $60 a set (a set being both sides)produced by Energy Suspension.

Side Note:
I'm a little disapointed with the response here, usually more people respond (out side of the trolls).

Thank you to beerhat for responding.

I just looked through a parts manual for a 2001 Dakota, and near as I can tell, for a 2WD, you can get the upper control arm bushings (p/n 5203 7673) separate from the control arm. The lower control arm bushings are not available separately, so if you want new ones from Dodge, you gotta buy lower control arm assemblies.

For the 4x4, the bushings are part of the control arm assemblies, and not available separately from Dodge. No bushings listed.

That might explain the lack of aftermarket bushings for the 4x4: they're pressed into the control arms.

Thank you, Josh

I have since found after market poly for the upper and lower, and yes they have to be press out and the shells are reused by installing the poly bushings pressing them in then pressing the shells and bushing into the controll arm. A bit of a chore.

I have also found a source for OEM rubber bushings with shells.

This research has taken me over a month to locate and identify sources.

I was hoping that some one on this board had located a source, after all this board has offered so many answers in the past.

Thanks for responding.

Hey TLC361...I too have been looking for replacement bushings all around for my 2000 rig. The front of my truck is sooooo loose it's annoying the hell out of me. I didn't do nearly as exhaustive research as you did...can you share where you found these replacements? How hard of a job is it with hand tools?

Sure thing, check out the websites below.

http://www.suspension.com/Dodge%20Dakota.html
Prothane Brand only
4.213-BL
Must re-use the
outer metal shell

I seem to have mis-placed the second source.

I have not replaced the bushings yet. I plan to in the next couple months.
