I have a few questions for you all. Is a torsion bar suspension good for driving in the dunes. I know Coil Springs are better but this is what i have. I know if i launch it something may break so heavy duty torsoin bars are coming soon. A four link in the rear by AIM INC. will also becoming later next year (It's december 2005 so it will come later in 06), Another thing is a body lift bad for dunes. I was going to go out their earlier this year got the flag and mount but couldn't find the time to go. So 06 Silver Lake here i come.
Any ideas for my Prerunning fun drop me a line

1993 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab (NO RUST AT ALL and its driven everyday with 137,000 miles) 4x4 Stock Suspension, 31X10.50 Mud Terrains, K&N, Chip, One LOUD exhaust = One hell of a truck

I think the factory torsion bars couldn't hold up in a dune vehicle plus it is way to heavy.

I think it's all in the landing ie: are you landing at the bottom (bad) or on the down hill(not as bad), or how high you are jumping when going up the dune. I for one would love to see some pics of a prerunner gen II. I believe they originally used dakotas years ago at the Walker Evans offroad driving school (before he switched to HUMMERS). Maybe an email to those folks could shed some light?
Another place for general tech questions may be addressed to the those wild cats at Total Chaos. Even though they are all about Toys and Rangers, they may still be willing to share tech knowledge. Most anybody is willing to give advice (good or bad) when asked.

I'm sure the body lift has the potential to loosen. It is the same as anything else on a rig used hard offroad, it would need to be checked regularly.
Good luck, and keep us updated.
