I was thinking about getting new shocks for my truck and I was contemplating gettin a steering stabilizer for the front end. I saw one in Summit by Rancho for $59, my only question is how hard is it to install, and does it take any extra fabrication on my part? Also, I was wondering if the Pro-Comp nitrogen shocks were a good choice for my truck, I liked the price, $33 a piece as compared to like $79 for Ranchos, haha. I have a 2000 4.7L clubcab 4x4. Thanks ya'll!!

Unless you're going off-pavement, the 4x4 does not need a steering stabilizer. All it needs is a driver with a proper grip on the steering wheel.

Steering tabilizers have their place: Big heavy tires, lift kits, significant off road use. Otherwise don't do it.

Hey Jeremy,
What Branson and .boB said.
Another point: If you haven't done so, spend some time under your vehicle studying the steering arrangement there. You'll find not much spare room or clearance to attach something between the tie rod or rack extension and a strong body component, and still allow unrestricted motion of all the steering components.

Ok, thanks guys. I guess I don't need one then. I take it off road, but not all that much and it's nothin extreme, just some mud.
