Have 2001 4.7 suto AWD DAK- has anybody disconnected front driveshaft & driven in 2WD only? (Trying to increase fuel mileage) Any problems w/ Xfer case/tranny/computer?? Thanks in advance, KRELLCO

The benefit is unlikely to be more than a mile or
two per gallon. Perhaps going from 16 mpg to 18
mpg. Driving 15,000 miles per year with gas at
$2.50 the additional 2mpg would save you $260 a
year or $22 a month.
Personally I am unwilling to give up AWD. If I
need higher mpg I will drive a more efficient
vehicle.
