i already outfitted my 2001 Dak with factory skid plates. The major skid plate i am looking for is a steel one to replace the plastic guard for the bottom of the engine, it guards the belt and oil filter n all. I lost the plastic one while playing atthe mounds in Flint MI. any info with websites and part #'s is great.

Sounds custom to me. Between the front cross member and your front skid plate the likelyhood of anything getting that high to damage your truck would be very unlikely.

Not thats its a bad idea I'm thinking about making my own front bumber and integrating a skid plate that would attach to the custom skid plate that I made. The skid plate that I made, using some plans that I got on this web site; I believe is pretty close to the factory skid plate set up. I still have that plastic piece that is supposed to stop water and mud from shotting the up.

uhhh... your radiator gaurds your belts and the oil filter is on the side of the engine. . . take off the lower plastic piece of crap bumper (its just there to make the truck pretty) and get a 3'x3' piece of 1/8" galvo or aluminum diamond plate and bend it around your steel bumper and mate it up to the bolts on the skid plate under your front transaxle. drill a few holes and bolt it to your bumper and use the old bolts on the factory skidplate. dont forget to put holes in the plate to circulate air to your radiator (I think Homer Simpson called them "speed holes") took me about 2 hrs. bending the plate is toughest part. gauranteed to run over and kill garbage cans dead.
