Hello,

I don't own a Dakota . . . yet. I would like to see some pictures of Dakotas with the Rancho 3" lift installed. I've checked member pictures here and done some general web search and find almost nothing. Please post pictures or links.

I'm waiting to see how the Rancho lift works for the 2001 when it comes out before I decide to buy new or used. I'm really hoping to do a 2001 Quadcab 5.9 with a 3" lift and 33's.

I did check with Rancho about their release date for a lift for 2001's, and they aren't too exact on a timeframe. Their response:

"Thank you for your interest in Rancho products. Unfortunately, at this
time, Rancho does not have a suspension lift for your vehicle. However, we
are in the process of designing a this lift. It should be released late
2001, early 2002. "

Ummmm.....no, Dakota. I'm living proof of the quad cab 5.9 4x4! There ARE a few of us out there!!

I, for one, am out of patience. The lift manufacturers continue to push back the release of susp lifts for our trucks. I'm going to follow Hawkeye's lead and run with a body lift until something better comes along. I wanna be up in the air soooooo bad that I'm even going to sacrifice my shaker setup for the few months that I'll have to wait for Proglass to custom make me a "taller" airbox.

Good luck guys!!

I just put the rancho 3"lift on my 98 extended cab xlt, initialy everyone said that only 32x11.50 would fit under the truck with the lift. I turned my torsion bars and actually got 4 inches out of the lift and I just put the 33x11.5 on yesterday. They do rub a little when the wheel is cranked to one side and you flex the suspension even a little bit. So if you do any heavy duty 4-wheeling I wouldn't get the 33's but they work if you're like me and just doing it for looks. Anyway I have some picures of my truck after the lift but before I put the 33" tires on it, it had 31x10.50 at that time. Email me if you want the pictures.

Dakota,
Yes there is a 5.9 QC 4x4: I own one, too. There was about 8-10 in app. a 100 mile radius in my area, when they first come out. I ordered mine: I couldn't find one on a lot with all the options I wanted.

Brent I have read a few articles where the Rancho lift was put on 99's with 33x12.50's and aftermarket rims with no problem. Are you running the Stock 15x8 rims? If so then they will rub on the frame a little with the 33x12.50's because of their backspacing. I am running 33x12.50's on American Racing 15x8's with no problem except I had to trim about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch of plastic off the very bottom back side of the plastic on the bumper as it would hit the outside forward edge of the tire in mid turn. Cant even tell its been trimmed now. They dont even come close to the frame. No problem when the susp is flexed either. I was running 32x11.50's on the factory 15x7 rims before the lift and they didnt rub anywhere. I will have pics of mine with the lift and tires very soon.

'99 dakota CC 4x4 , must say it's quite a change.
it's not super tall but it's taller than all
other compacts 4x4 or otherwise, and it's taller
than most 4x2 full size trucks! realy looks nice.
I've got alot of compliments. I am also running
32" BFG tires , looks S-W-E-E-T !!!Also running
Eagle alloy triple chrome plated wheels #117
I am going up another 2" with a Performance
accerories body lift in a word... AWSOME!!

They've got some pretty cool newer graphics than when I ordered mine, too. Should be able to set you up with whatever you're after.

Seeeeeeee ya!

Truckinsuspension makes 4.5,6.5,9.5 inches of lift for 97'and up Dakotas. I was hoping to find a picture of one in here. Or to see if a 6.5 will allow 35" tires.

Trucking Suspension vs. Ranco

I got a 2000 QC 4x4 with the 4.7, I would like to put 35's on it. I am not shure if I should use the truckin suspention 4.5 lift and some trimming, or just go with the Rancho and settle for 33's. Any recomenedations? Testimonies?

about the truckin suspensions if you do heavy off roading you should go with something more stable but its cheap and easy if you are doin it just for looks. i have a 99 dakota sport with 5.5 tuff country suspension w/ 3 inch body and i wish i would have gone with something a little stronger cuz ive had to do adjustments on it every time i off road.
