Subject: 35's with 3" bl-how bad do they rub?

I got a set of 33" claws that really need replacing. The only reason I don't get stuck is because of the sidewalls. Practically no center tread at all. I picked up a set of 35" general grabber ap's from a friend for $200 to put on my 89 power ram. Problem is, my old man doesn't wanna see old tires with new rims, springs and shocks. So I figure, I already got a 3" body lift. I have a set of add-a-leafs chilling on my bedroom floor, and if I crank my t-bars I should get another 1.5-2" of lift. I know those 35's will rub as bad as the day is long, but my question is- how bad? Is is bearable? I know this is pretty stupid, but hey, a $200 set of 35's is still cheaper than a new set of 33's.
