Well I got a rancho 3" lift and 33" tires and I got a bit of rub so it looks like its trim time.

Does anyone know of a company that makes or sells cutout flares with patterns for triming?

Its a 99 4x4 dak. I purchased it new and built the truck myself on the deals computer. It has 318, 5 speed manual, LSD, 3.92 gear (i think, I know it is not the 3.55), tow package, skid plates, ABS (still works after lift not modification).

I installed a 3" rancho lift with BFG all tarain tires 33 x 12.50 on 15 x 8 with 4 or 4.5 inch back spacing, stock is 6 I think. The BFG tires are actually only 32.5 so if you got oversize 33's may rub more. It rubs on the front bumper when there is actuation and on the inner wheel well next to the frame at full steer.

I had to take the skid plate off the front I was able to keep the transfer and gas skid. People will tell you they are composite but they are not. The composite peices are dirt guards, if you pay for skid plates you get some heavy ass steel ones. The rancho kit was easy to install overall with a couple of exceptions it is mostly a bolt on kit.

I had to cut off front bumpstop brackets, they tell you this in the kit its not so bad unless you follow their instructions. They tell you to use a die grinder. If you have 4 hours this is probably fine however we used a torch took us about 5 mins. If you are skilled with a torch you won't dmg the frame with heat at all like they suggest.

I had to cut the subframe peice in the front to widen the bolt slots they tell you this in the instructions die grinder works great.

I had to enlarge the holes in the rear sway bar and the rear ubolt brackets both mentioned in the instructions.

The patterns for the torshon bar drop brakets are not the right size in the instructions do not use them. Make your own out of cardboard, you will have pleanty from the boxes.

The passenger side front drop braket I had to drill a new set of holes to make if fit, the predrilled one was like a half inch off.

To get the spare on the spare tire holder i had to weld some steel wings on it, this is completely dependant on your wheels though. The stock dak wheels have a very tiny hole in the center compared to aftermarket.

Good news is

Factory Jack is still tall enough, throw a peice of 2x8 in your truck just for insurance.

33 inch tire barely fits under bed in spare tire spot.

Looks totally pimp

I can change my oil now without ramps.

You will need.

Metric wrenches 7mm-21mm, shallow and deep sockets 11mm-23
Air rachet and Impact wrench is highly recommended, air hammer helped a ton at getting the torshun bars out of the lower arms but you could probably do without removing them.

The rancho nuts are machine stamped to deform the threads a bit a the end of the nut so its really gonna be really tight when threaded on and the nuts aren't likely at all to ever fall off.

Overall I am happy with the kit and unhappy with the salesman at 4wheelparts.com that told me 33's would fit. I guess its myfault for trusting a commosion weasel. I am saving my original wheels and will probably go to 32 (280?) 10.5 if such a tire exists or get a body lift, althought I really don't want a body lift.
