That's a informative post there, almighty quinn.
But just for kicks, how about lettin' us in on what's being "done" to your axles that's got you so excited.

Haha,
pulling some axles from an old blazer, had a thread on here from ealier. forgot where it was. probley should have posted it back on that one but it took so long to get everything together just started a new on. putting in a corporate 14bolt in back. forgot to ask him what type of axle was going in front. been some confusion on that one. removing the ifs in front, for a straight axle. getting it done for about $1500. doh i was excited so just forgot to add the other info again.

Sounds good but IIRC, the previous thread was never resolved as to the front axle questions. We were discussing that the guy doing the work said he was going to use older chevy blazer front axle, which we had determined has the diff on the wrong side. What ever became of that? I would think you would have all those details worked out before the guy put the first tool on your truck.

he's doing the whole job for 1500, or is that just for the labor. i did mine myself and the parts alone was over 3000 candian not including tires/rims. it's a lot of work and is much harder than firsts apears,

doing the whole job for 1500, parts and labor, sorry, oh yeah walt i'm dumb. its a 44 in the front. got that figured out. selling both axles to me for 600 apiece. then labor for 300 because i'm giving my rear axle to him so he brought my price down. that should resolve it now. lol still new the axle conversion stuff. I already have tires, putting on new steel rims i got for about 200, so i guess the whole job for about 1700, 44 sounds alittle better considering the fact that the other wouldnt work. lol I just trusted him because he seemed he knew what he was doing, kinda stupid on my part. he's doing a great job on my buddies blazer with his engine. taking down to the springs on saturday.

Dang, I've got a D44 and 14 bolt if people are paying $600 a piece I'm going to be rich. Those axles are usually $600 for both and that's asking a lot. The Blazer Dana44 is a passenger side diff so you'll have to get a different transfer case.

LOL, if i still decide to get this done it will be a 44 front coilover and ford 9". it's sitting at the other shop waiting for me to make up my mind, i hate decisions. i hate that i cant spell either.

I would do the D44 and coilovers for sure. I wouldnt mess around with having to get a new T-case and all that with the chevy axles.

Coilovers are a lot of money are are more Bling than performance for a weekend trail ride. Keep it simple Rancho Waggy Springs 44044s flex nicely. Leaf springs are a lot simpler than a 4 or 5 link setup
