i have an 87 dak 4x4... 3.9 v6 and 3speed tranny.. im currently running 31x10.5x15s. the current gear ratio is 3.55:1 (im pretty sure).
i was wondering what gear ratio would be best for 4 wheeling, but also give me decent gas milage on the highway... im planning to upgrade to 32s or 33s once these tires wear out.

I wouldgo with a 3.92 or even a 4.10 but its unavoidable when you climb to a higher gear 9 times its going to give worse gas milage... so expect it to drop a little.. somerwhere around 1mpg

hey thanks... i really cant afford much more of a drop in milage.. im down to about 12mpg with the 31s... its hurtin the wallet bad...
you think i should just stay with the stock, cause i mean, it handle the mud nicely, an i can just throw it into 4w low and go through anything...
