Hey guys. I just aquired my first truck which is a 1993 Dakota Club Cab 4x4 with the 5.2 in it. My brother who lives in Florida bought it brand new, and I've had it for almost a year now. I loved it from the first time he let me drive it 10 years ago, and it's still fun to drive but it's got some issues I hope you guys might be able to help me with.

One of my biggest problems is the T-case. It's beyond shot, and needs replacing before winter really sets in. I've been having trouble finding one, so I hoped I might find some leads here. Will any other years interchange that anyone knows of? Th OD in the tranny isn't working for some reason either, but it doesn't really act funny. Any cause for that? If I could find a good tranny& t-case from another year that would swap with little hassle, I would be up for that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Cory, If you're confident enough in your abilities, the transfer case is pretty easy to rebuild. I have a NP-231HD in my 1998, and a few weeks ago I pulled the case out, rebuilt it, and had it back in all on a Saturday by myself.

If you go that route, a company called JB Conversions is who I found to be a great source for parts. They put together a complete rebuild kit for me and a new chain for (I think) a little over $200. I was looking into getting a used case or a rebuilt one, but this was the cheapest and best route for me. While I was in there, I also put in a 6-gear planetary, so my case is now essentially an NP-241. I don't have their phone# handy, but their website is www.JBconversions.com. Their # and email are on the website. The guy I worked with was John White. He knew exactly what I was talking about and what I needed.

Good luck!
