I have heard that adjusting the torsion bars on the 2004 Dakota will level the front end with the back end. I would like to raise the front 1 1/2 to 2 inches. Would working with the torsion bars do this and just exactly how do I do this with the bars??

Yes - jack up and support front end, tighten the adjustment bolts at the rear of the torsion bars, and realign. Check height and readjust yo get desired height. Or just ask the alignment guy to do it. Try to find a good alignment guy - some are real hackers.

be careful with the ball joints though. they tend to where just a little fast and even faster with the torsion bars cranked up on dakotas but i will end up jacking mine up to but just warning you.

That's what they claim, I guess, but still no problem with original ball joints here. Been raised for a couple of years.

You can get up to 2" of lift from cranking the bars, but be forewarned that it will stiffen up the ride quite a bit .
