2" fabtech spring and shock lift for 2000 dakota 2WD

I just wanted to post a couple of things about this lift, as I just got it a couple days ago. The first thing, I already posted that I could fit the 30" tires on my 2000 dak without the lift, but with the lift it was still fine. I also kept the stock rims, so you don't have to have a new rim with the 3 3/4 backspacing. I didn't have any problems. I don't get any rubbing at all. I could probably fit 31's fine stock. As far as the shocks, the adjusting of the "3 way adjustable shocks" isn't worded to tell you the facts. Its not really possible to adjust the shocks without basically removing them first. I have mine set to firm which is medium, and they seem allright so far. Its a bit springy, but the springs are still setting. The lift did do what I wanted though. It stops the floating over humps nicely, and it gives the truck a slightly more aggressive stance. Not much, but you can notice. Articulation does suck, but I knew it would. Its nice that you don't use all your suspension travel over humps when you come down the hill and slam the ground. It stays pretty flat in that case. I also got the rear add a leafs for the back, and the truck does look pretty level. The back is still slightly higher than the front, but you have to look to see it. So all in all, I would say the kit works out pretty good. I don't think I'd pay the extra $1000 to get the 3" lift, especially when you lose even more articulation. If anyone has questions on it, let me know and I'll answer them.

how hard is it to install?...is the hardest part breaking the bolts loose or are there any specialty tools that you need?...could it be done by an average 'shade tree mechanic' over a weekend?...thanks

I don't really know, because I didn't do it myself. The only thing I know is that you have to have a spring compressor to safely remove the stock springs and to put the fabtech springs in. Otherwise, yea I don't think it would be that hard. Hopefully someone else can help you here.

i put the fabtech 2in lift on my 01 2wd it was a pain in the ass but it was well worth it didnt use a spring compresser just a couple floor jacks. the hardest part (for me) was putting the new springs in and bolting the spindle back on, the drivers side was harder than pass. for some reason. To have a shop instal would have been over 300 bucks
