Hey all, thought some of you might be interested to see what my truck looks like after a P.A. 3 inch body lift and some BFG mudders. (And a lil' crank on the torsion bars).

I'm having a little issue with clearance on my Rancho 90000's, but other than that I'm lovin my sweet new ride. Can't wait to go wheelin tomorrow!

They're 285/75R16 so about 33" x 11.25".
I did 3 turns on the torsion bars and it gave me a good inch or so.

was it simple? how long did the job take and did you have to make any unexpected modifications? How do those tires look on the stock rims? I'm looking to install the lift plus 33x12.50 either Dunlop's or BFG's and want to use my stock rim if possible.

Yeah, it was fairly easy... The P.A. instructions glossed over a few things that could have been better explained, but if you just apply common sense you should figure it out. (i.e. rear bumper brackets instructions sucked - had to remove a part that they never spoke about)... It took me a full Saturday from 10:00am to 10:00pm by myself. Some guys on here said 2 hours - HA! bullsh*t... Not possible - I don't care how many people you have wrenchin on it. 2 people - MAYBE 4 hours if you're really fast and don't screw around.

The tires look sweet on the stock rims. Brought new life to some tired old wheels. You'll have a hard time with 12.5 wide tires - they'll rub on the frame rails.

Just put a 3" bl on my 04 quad cab a week ago. Not I have 33x12.50x16 swamper trxus sts's on my stock rims. No rubbing on the street atleast. But that's most of my driving. No torsion crank.

when you turn the torsion bars what exactly does that do and do you turn them clockwise or counter clockwise?

You tighten the screws (clockwise) which applies more twisting tension on the torsion bar. That, in turn causes the control arm on the front suspension to be stiffer sprung, thereby increasing the height of the body at the front.

The more you crank the torsion bars, the greater the angle you are wanting your ball joints to work at, so they become slightly more stressed...

Just crank it about an inch or so and it shouldn't add too much stress though.

A body lift in 2 hours? With four people who've done it before and a vehicle hoist, sure!

How much did you pay for the PA kit? I've seen it for around 80 and then again I've seen it for about 220 bucks.

I was wondering if I could put 285/75/r16's on my stock Dak without a lift? I thought I had seen some on here with this setup, but wasn't sure. I realize that I might have to do some cutting on the fender wells, but what I'm trying to get is no rubbing with 285/75/16's. Sorry to bogart the thread but I need an answer for my tire fit prob really bad. ps. I have a 2001 4x4 cc v8 4.7 auto. If that helps. Email me if you have pics of a dak setup like I want on the stock rims at adtomlin19762yahoo.com

There's been a couple other threads on here that say YES - you can fit 33's on stock 16x8 rims with no lift and very little rubbing. You will likely get some minor frame rub on the inner frame rails and maybe need some plastic trimming near the front bumper.

I have a 2000 4.7 4X4 dakota. If I got the rancho 3" lift and the PA 3" body lift, do you think I could fit 35's on my truck.
