Subject: control arms?
IP: Logged

Message:
What are the differences between 2wd and a 4wd control arms other than the torsion bar keyways and the shock mount? Could 2wd control arms bolt to the 4wd frame mounts and would a 4wd hub bolt in place of a 2wd spindle? Basically I know they make arms for a 2wd that are 3" longer and provide like 3" lift. Could I put that on a 4wd as long as I don't plan to use the torsion bars?

nope the geometry is different , where they hook up to the frame is different , the 4by has no springs and no housing ...........totally different , plus the spring is what gives you the lift ......................

Even if they did mount up, the extra lenght would screw with the front cv shafts. they would probably be at a bad angle and wear, or they would be too short and wear.
