Subject: Highest lift for '94 dakota 4x4

Hello,
I had a question in regards to the highest lift I can get for my '94 dakota V6 4x4. Either suspension/body or combination of both. Reason being is I want to run 35in. tires on 15x14in. rims. Hope to hear from someone soon! Thanks!!

4" Trailmaster suspension
3" body
add a leaf in the rear
torsion bar adjustment in the front

All total, maybe 8-9"

35's? unless they are 12" wide on an 8-10" rim, I doubt it. You will still encounter rubbing if you actually use it off road.....unless you go custom suspension(solid axle) then the sky (or your state's lift law) is the only limit.

I don't use the truck too much off roading, mostly on beach sand and for towing my boat. For day to day freeway driving it should be ok? I want to use 15X14 rims; most probrability I would have to do some sort of backspace trimming. How much do you think would need to be trimmed? Would I run into any problems with the trimming process? Also, would the ball joint be pre-maturally worn down from the tires and rims? Mahalo!

14"s is very wide for this bugga. Yes, it will wear out "ALL" front end parts pre-maturely. The rubbing problem will be bad at the back of the fender opening. There is only so much trimming one can do there before you get into the firewall, brudda. I don't know how much you would need to trim.
It has been a number of years since I was stationed in HI (1987)so my pigeon is rusty. HA! I thought there were state laws on the amount of tire that could protrude from the side of the vehicle. A 14 incher is going to put a bunch of rubber outside the fender. I gather from your e-mail "mostly on beach sand" that you take it out Makaha way? Or are you even on Oahu?

Hope this help da kine,
Bra
