Evening all,
Common sense should tell you I own a dakota. I see a lot of "get togethers" for dakota owners all over, except for in my area. I would love to get something going in my area, I am on the southern Il area. Any other dakota owners in the area that would like the same? Also if anyone knows of anywhere we could find some off road areas in the area, that would also be great to know. Go ahead and post here or email me.

Great guys, I live in c'dale and have a place at Scott Air Force Base. Am looking forward to getting a bunch of people together for some kind of offraoding event. I did some research and it seems that there is an area designated for off road vehicle use at land between the lakes in KY, but that is the only plae I would know of to get off the pavement. Any of you guys have any ideas? Of course, traveling a few hours will not be a big deal. Also, what kind fo daks are you running?

I have a 97 2WD Dak. It is a V6 with slight modifications. Cold Air Intake, V8 TB, MSD System, 3" Body Lift, 31" Pro Comp Mud Terrains, some others. Land Between the Lakes is cool, but I have some buddies who have been and said there are a lot of a**holes down there, but that's probably the best place to go. There aren't many places that I've heard of anywhere close to any of us, but with some research we might find something.

Kinda sucks in our area. What I am looking for would be a get together for a weekend for trail riding and stuff. Nothing too serious as I am "pre-lift" on my truck, but that day will come. But some fun on the trails as well as dakota BSing...

sounds cool man . yeah there are some trails in missouri near Rolla but some say you need some clearence to make it. so that might not be a good idea. have you ever been to the 4x4 mud bogs that Custom Differentials puts on during the summer there is some serious trails there as well as rock crawling and mudd drags its pretty sweet.

Well, looks like we have 4 so far... Mauybe we can get some more. Ever notice the amount of Dakota owners but the lack of dakota after market parts... Guess the after market guys do not know so much about clientell (if that is spelled right)... Jeff, that 4x4 mud bogs sounds great, when and where do they have it? From the looks of it, it sounds like Land between the lakes might be our best bet but there is always room for change. Anyone with any info about it would be great. And if anyone might know any places we might be able to go on private land would be great also. I am going to put another post including Missouri and Kentucky at least the areas close uo us. I see a lot of them for the east coast, but none for our neck of the woods, and I am sure there are more of us in the area. Look for the new post... Also, if you guys are serious about this, then lets get the email cliche going, always easier to send it directly. If ya want send me one and when I get new ones I will send out the list.

The only places i know of are the land-lakes, the superlift park in arkansas, the place in eastern Indiana(forget the name its on this board somewhere), theres also a place down south near cape girardeau (st joes state park maybe) its alot of sand i think, people take quads there mostly but it might be fun.

hey all, been getting a handfull of posts for places to wheel, have to check them all up. Also getting asked on when we might go. I am open to suggestions. Anybody have any preferred time frames. I am military, so I need a bit more time to schedule leave. But from the looks of it we have the following places recommended: land between the lakes, st joes near Cape Giradeau, some in the rolla area (not sure of the neame yet), and turkey bay. I will see about getting more precise locations for these.

as posted before, i'm in LaSalle-Peru, north central ill. and count me in. if it looks like just a dozen or so trucks ,i might talk a land owner into hosting a weekend thing. it wouldn't be radical but i know where you can get stuck. it's east of Mt.Vernon, Ill. he also has a couple trailers he rents. i drive a '94 cc 5.2 4x4

Hey all,
I have another post, and have heard some great things of Turkey Bay, part ot land between the lakes. Until I saw the turkey bay pics posted, i didnt realize that i got to tag along on a jeep ralley there. When I was there (bout 5 yrs ago or so) there enough trails to let you decide what kind of trail difficulty you want to try to tame, should be great. I have a school to go to for the military in late april, but am looking to take leave in mid may. Of course it will be on a weekend, probably fri, sat, sun. Anybody be able to make it in May?

Hey all,
Hope there are still some interested out there for some off roading. Ordered my bumper toady, will hopefully have it ready, on the truck with winch before we go. I tried to put in leave for the last two weeks of May, but that didn't work, so I reserved the 1st two weeks of May and the first two weeks of June. New times, tell me if there are any interested. I also have a friend that works here on nights with a 2003 Dak and he is interested also. So give me your thoughts and comments. Also, if anybody wants to go somewhere else tell us. Not dead set on Kentucky (Turkey bay), but it sure looks like it would be fun.

I'm also near Scott AFB. I have been to the Flat River off-roading area. It's pretty good. They are old tiff mining sites. A lot of fun there. I would be interested in some kind of get together.

Hey Odin, where is the Flat-river area at? Is that near Land between the Lakes or is that somewhere close to Scott. I am trying to find some places close to Scott where I can scoot there in less then a few hours and play. I even wouldn't mind staying someplace if its not that far away just trying not to break the 200 mile barrier if you know what I mean.
