 Subject: tire backspacing question

I am going to be puting a 3" body lift on my truck and crank the torsions with a block in the rear and have some questions about tires and rims.
I want my tires to stick out some and was wondering if that had to do with backspacing, if so how does it work. Is it the more or the less backspacing the more the tires stick out.
please help me on this if you can.thanks

I am planning on getting new wheels and tires when i lift my truck and want my tires to stick out past my fender flares and was wondering what would be some good backspacing for that.

cheap would be ae 589 15x8 or any of the 8" are all from ae 3.25 backspacing also weld has 3 5/8 back , leave your mail I'll send you a pic of mine , they stick out , you can see if you like ..............

can you guys clairify "backspaceing" for me?i need a wider
stance for my 03 dakota w/16 inch rims.tires alone wont cut it
because of clearence issues.

Here is a pic of how far 15x10 stick out. Even with a body lift i rub on the fender flares.
Sorry about the size of the pic. Dont know html that good.
