Ed, if you really want to buy this truck see if you can work a deal with the seller to get this problem fixed. My guess is that its a brake
rotor out of round. If the truck had lost a wheel
weight or the tires were not balanced properly the vibration would not only be under braking. Does this truck have a lift? What is the tire
diameter? What is the year make and model of "the
big dodge?" Does anybody else have any advice for
our friend, Ed?

If they have a lot of tread it could be that also. I had some 31's with crazy tread and when you slow down almost to a stop the tred vibrates the truck a little up front. Hope this helps.

I've got boggers on my truck and it vibrates more the slower you go, not sure about TSL's but the large lugs on the tire will cause vibrations. Best way to find out would be to throw a M/T or A/T tire on the truck and test it again.

Balance the tires at a 4 wheel shop. normal shops usually cant balance a 35 with their machine. That should help with the vibration.

As far as the engine light, go to an Autozone and have them get the engine codes. Then come back here.
