Wondered if anyone had any advice about removing the 2 bolts per side that my "Go Rhino Sumatra" Bracket is supposed to mount too? I am supposed to remove the 2 bolts that are mounted into the bumper but they seem like they are damn near welded in!

Having a hell of a time trying to break them free with limited room to work.

It is an 03 CC 3.9 V6 4WD
Thanks
Sledge

Remove the bolt only, the nuts are welded

So I have to tear the cowl out to get to them? It appears that is the only way to get to the backside of the bolt.

They don't appear welded though. I just seem to be having hard time getting them out. I can imagine trying this when they really have years to rust. This truck is brand new with less than 6K on the odometer!

Ok well if they are welded on there, if I remove the bolt only the nut will still be welded onto the frame... if that happens then the brackets will not fit flush with the mounting surface.

So is this a flaw with the design of the "Go Rhino" Brackets?
Any ideas on how to get around this?

You could always break the weld, it wont break the bolt. just break the nut off. they are only tacked on the corners.

Hey sledge they are not welded I just put a polar bear brush gaurd on two weeks ago. Those bolts sre just on ther tight as $hit. I broke one of my rachets trying to get them off. Just use a nice breaker bar a give it a little extra elbow grease. I have an 03 also.

Did you attack this from the head of the BOLT or Crank on the NUT?

I have had 2 calls into "Go Rhino" their instructions are sh*t, they sent me diagrams from 1997. I think I May be able to get it, may take a but of elbow grease to do it, but It'll get done.
Thanks

Update:
Well for anyone who needs to get at these bolts:
A: They are NOT Welded
B: They are Reverse Threaded

As Sully said.. a breaker bar and Deep Well Socket and these puppies came off without issue. Go Rhino Sumatra is on and ready for use!

Thanks Sully!
