Message:
i own a 96 dak 5.2L 4X4 and right now i'd love to do some lifting to the way too low stock setup. now i know that if i go w/ a suspension lift, i only have one choice and that's a 4" trailmaster, which would run upwards of $4000.00 canadian installed. i don't have that kind of funds for the meagre off-roading i do. so i started looking for a body lift of the same 2"-4" range and could find the two inch , BUT NO PICTURES! if anybody has or knows of anybody who has a GENII dak w/ 2"-4" body lift, could you send me some pics? i'd love to know what my truck is gonna look like before i spend the cash to do it.

At the very bottom of one of the folders, there is a vid of me and my Dak stuck at a creek crossing. It is near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan,CDA.
I wheel here with lots of other brands of rigs. check it out and E-mail me if you like the footage.

Hey 92Dakota4x4 on your profile it says you have a one inch suspension lift. Did you just crank your front torsion bars up? With the two inch body lift do your tires rub at all or very much?

yes, I replaced the stock torsion bars with the heavy duty V8 2000 lb ones from the dealer, and added a 1" block to the back...you don't necessarily need to replace the torsion bars for 1" lift...The tires rub the inside of the frame, but it is smooth and does no damage.if I have the wheel turned and hit a large bump the tires will contact the rear lower corner of the fender flare,i think it is worse now with the Bushwacker flares than it was with the stock ones, but it doesn't rub hard enough to damage the tires...By the way the frame contact is at the front of the fenderwell, only when the wheels are at full lock

No,I have almost 8000 miles on them (bought them new)and they are worn evenly, not cupped or feathered in any way.And I did the alignment myself where I work, everything came into factory spec. I did replace my idler arm and pitman arm first, because they were worn out.A tight front suspension is very important to maintain proper tire wear, and I rotate the tires front to rear every 5000 miles.
