I have a '98 4x4 with a 318 and a flowmaster 3" single cat back. It sounds super tough but it is not overly loud inside the cockpit. I would recommend it to anyone. I have also heard a 4.7 truck with a dynomax system and it sounded pretty good also. Maybe get which is the cheapest.

I have a 99 v6 single cab 4x4 with 40 series flowmaster. It has single inlet, dual outlet 2 1/2 inch pipe. It sounds sweet. Its by far the best v6 ive heard. So it should make your v8 sound great too, Im sure. I get many comments on how good it sounds. It is very loud, outside and inside, but i can crank up my system over it if i really want to. I have also noticed a power increase and gas mileage increase. The muffler shops around where i live all recomend flowmaster and so do I. Flowmaster is the only way to go in my book.

i have a 99 v-8 318 with a single inlet to dual outlet 40-series Flowmaster with NO tail pipes and it sounds bigger and beefier than any of my friends big ass trucks! although it was an accident on my part for why i have no tail pipes i am glad i cut them off it sound twice as loud without them so i recommend to not waste your money on tail pipes and just buy the muffler. even my friends Chevy isnt as loud as my Dak and it has the same set up as mine so thats what i would go with.
