i e-mailed off road unlimited to see if they had any plans for solid front axle swaps on dakotas. they mailed me back and said they had an employee that had a gen iii and wanted to lift it. they told me to keep posted, but maybe if everyone will e-mail them they'll get their a$$ in gear. help me out. please!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 98 Durango, I was wanting a solid axle for the longest time, but cost and time became to much. I am working on changeing it all now. What I mean I found a fullsize chevy Suburban from the early 80's that is the same wheelbase as my Durango. The only thing that I'm going to be changeing is the body and mounts. I'm going to trash the Suburban body and try to sell my rolling frame, engine, trans, and transfer case.
You might want to find an older chevy or ford for your Dakota.
