that light bar looks pretty good. I basically was trying to figure out what one looks like when there is no cab fairing or rollbar in the bed. Exactly what I wanted to see.

*one step closer now to getting one*

I just bought this one from eBay. It's quite solid, and has rubber protective covers for the contact point on the roof, and rubber grommets where each wire goes for lights. All wires are hidden from view inside the bar channel. You can see the actual auction that I just won at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2414966399&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:US:6
When I got it, I was very happy with how it looks. Pretty much every light bar out there looks similar (roof mounts.) All are rectangular steel, in different colors. This one is black, and cost only $65 shipped. :)

What about magnets? I might try this today for my camping trip this weekend.

Get four large magnets made for CB antennas and fab up a bar for the 4 8" lights. Put a magnet at each corner for stability and bolt the bar to them. The box or "H" shape that the bar would make, would only have to be 40" long and 12" wide.

Put that any where on the roof you like, hell even the hood.

I could even mount one light per magent.

thats not a bad idea perpetrate.

my dad has a motorized magnetic light he would stick on his truck that had a remote to angle it around. wasn't the most professional looking thing but worked well
