I just got back from a dealer ,the original problem
I had was that the lower right front shock bolt
snapped,So I went to the dealer to have them fix it.They told me that the upper and lower ball
joints where completely gone, and that I would
have to replace the control arms as well because
they are sold as unit, the control arms and
balljoints , they also said that was the reason the bolt snapped.
Has anyone gone through this sh*t? , do both the
balljoints AND upper/lower control arms need to be
replaced at the same time, or can I just replace
the balljoints only?,cause they quoted a parts only price of $4500 bucks!!!! ouch !!!!.
Can I just put a new bolt in to secure the shock,
and replace the balljoints later?
I need H-E-L-P, Thanks in advanced.

Screw that, pick up new moog ball joints and replace them yourself. THe original arms can stay. Also get a new bolt for the shock.

in order to put in new ball joints you'll just need to grind out the rivets holding them in and pull them like you would any other type.

That estimate sounds high. I had them replaced under warranty on my previous dak ('98) and it was nowhere near $4500. More like $2500, and that included some service on the tranny. Sounds like they are trying to take you for a ride.
