I have a 88 dak 4x4 std 3.9L its got edlebrock headers, k&N filter, Bosch platnium 4 plugs, no pollution stuff. I was wondering if I could loosen the bolts holding the back axle on take the block out and then weld on like 2" of steel to raise it because right know I have about 2 and a half inches of bolt left if you get what I am trying to say. then I'll just tighten up the torsion bars on the front? thanx

i used the pro-comp add-a-leaf in the rear of my truck. i got probably 2inches of lift out of it. i have no problem with the driveshaft or even the shocks, its just the e-brake cables which are a little taught but everything still works great.
send me a pic, id like to see your truck... you too superbee, i havent seen your truck in a while. later

I was thinking about getting the add a leaf but then you only get like 1.75" of a lift I want like 3" so I think I will look into THRASH1's idea to get 3"with the lowering blocks has anyone else done this ever?

any blocks over about an inch or two inches cause massive wheelhop. if your just doin it for looks, it's not a problem, but offroad it adds more wheelhop.

holy crap! 100 bucks for an add-a-leaf?! even in canadian that sounds exspensive. i only paid like 30 bucks for my pro-comp add-a-leaf through 4wheelparts in washington state. i think it was one of those "universal" kits but it went in pretty easy. id look around a little more before you shell out that much for some steel. later

Hey RaGuS nice truck its like exactly like my truck what size tires you got? and did you put blocks on the back? and do you know how much I can crank my torsion bars up? to level it I put 2" blocks in the rear it raised it, and now I want to raise the front to make it even. The front sits like 1 and a half inches lower.

I didnt put any blocks in the back, only the body lift ones all around, those pics are before I put the lift on tho. What I did, I cranked my torsion bars before i got the lift on, I just cranked them and put a level on the door jam untill it read level, thats the best way to do it. My tires are only 30's I want to go 32's BFG mudterrains for the spring/summer, i got the A/T's for the Fall/ Winter cuz in the snow and stuff mudders suck on pavement....
