Go with BFG AT's if you have the money. They are a very aggressive tire, look mean (for an AT), and also have the 50,000 mile warranty. I have a couple friends who have them (some on jeeps) and they absolutely love them. I know some people on this board run them, just don't know who. So if you do have them on your dak let this guy know so he can see some pics.

I run the BFG ATs on mine and love them. I highly recommend them. I know that they are not a Mud tire, but being that you do a lot of regular driving, these would be much better for you. They really hold their own. You can check out my pics at the bottom of my post.

Rated Bridgestone Dueler MT's as the best Mud Tire, also got the best treadlife rating, doesn't have a mileage warranty though.

tweaked: welcome to the awesome world of off roadin!!!
tires are a pretty personal thing, you can ask this
question a 1000 times on this forum, and get a 1000
different answers. like you, i do most of my driving on
pavement, but i wouldn't buy anything but a mud
terrain. this is because up here in alberta, canada a AT
won't work in the thick gumbo mud, and deep snow. not
dissing AT's because they do serve their purpose. i
would go for a mud terrain tire, you won't be
dissapointed. what you lose in milage, ( i get
40000miles out of my hankook T24's) you will make up
in performance and looks. i would recommend BFG"s. i
have never owned them, but if you search this forum,
you will find that VERY FEW people have anything bad
to say about them. they will be my next purchase. if you
do decide to go to AT's , the BFG's would also be my
choice. anyway, that's my $.02!! good luck.

I have to agree with Badassmp. After checking out tirerack.com and the surveys the Bridgestone Revo's are the way to go. Check for availability though. When I NEEDED tires the waiting period was 4 to 6 weeks for the Revos. With that, I purchased a set of Michelin LTX M/S 265/70/16's for my 2000 QC 4x4.

You should be able to get the Revos through your friendly local Firestone dealer, as they deal in Bridgestone as well. I had heard that there was a problem with availability though. I don't know whether to believe it or not. One tire place told me they were on nationwide backorder and it could be a month before I could get them, but I went to another and the next day I had a set on my Dakota....hmmmm?

Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo here as well. Had them since early December. It took a week to get them at my local dealer because I wanted LT's. Couldn't be any happier so far.
