Subject: PA lift and tailpie ?
IP: Logged

Message:
First off, what an awsome site. I just traded my WS6 Trans Am for a 1998 5.2 4x4 SLT ext cab Dak, and so far I love it. I had the local muffler shop toss on one of my old Borla XR-1 race mufflers on it with 3" exhaust and sounds sweet. My question is I am going to be installing the PA 3" body lift this comming week and was wondering if the tailpipe is going to be in the stock location (3" lower), or will I have to have it redone. Also with the stock 15x8's will 33x11.5's pose a problem/ Thanks all.

Hey -

I have a 97 with the 3" body lift, go for the lift you will love it! If your tailpipe is at the stock location, you will be ok. It does hang where it did before the lift, it's just that the bed will be 3 inches higher than it was before. Tire wise, it won't be a problem either. The exhaust wont move from where it is now.

Good luck with your truck. I have 33x12.5 tires with 15x8 rims and a slight rub at full steer but it runs GREAT on and off road.

i have my flowmaster flipped up so that there is less of a gap between my bumper and tailpipe. my heavy duty hanger kept on snapping, but solved the problem ever since i welded a brace to it.
