The new skid plates from dodge are metal, and they will fit the quad cab(except maybe the gas tank), but at the cost they run to buy from the factory, go to a local metal shop and have them give you some real high quality ones for a little less. Just my .02 cents.

The 97-99 Dakota's had Metal plates. I think they were reasonably priced.
