Hey i know that you have rhinolining like stuff all arround your truck, i have it on my rocker panels and bed caps and bed(professional done), i was wondering if you did it yourself or had it done

cause i had the cheap dupli-color "truck bed lining" from the local auto parts store on my front and rear valance(slt grey plastic) IMO i think that the darker daks look so much better with this black, but the cheap stuff would flake off after mudding and the pressure washer hits it, not too bad but i cant stand it

so if you did it yourself what did you use and do you have this prob???

thx

I did it myself with herculiner from the auto parts store. I haven't had a problem with it peeling off. Surface prep is critical. I spent about 5-6 hours doing surface prep, making sure that everything was thoroughly scuffed and clean, including scuffing the heck out of the plastic on the bumpers. And before putting the liner on the plastic, I layed down a few coats of this stuff I found at the parts store that's supposed to make paint stick to plastic parts...I forgot what it's called. Then I just did a few coats of the herculiner, making sure it covered everything and that it was on pretty thick.

Only issue that I had with the herculiner was that it lost its shine pretty quickly...it wasn't fading but it lost that semi-gloss look that it had when I first put it on. Solved that by using semi-gloss black spray paint. Works great! I usually just use a power washer and a soft scrub brush to clean it and so far it's holding up well.

nice got another project, i was tried of the 3 days of grey on my truck

as for it losing the gloss that would actually be better so that it matches the older liner on the truck at the moment

thanks for letting me know whats up
