what kinda of effect would 4:10 Posi gears have on a 97 5.2l V8 4x4? how much are they, ne websites? my friend has a 4.0 V6 4x4 Ranger with 4:10 posi gears, and i like them. was wondering what they would do for my Dakota. I just want to have posi gears, not nessacerily 4:10, i like the fact of hookin up both tires at once, ne ideas? i have 3:55 peg legs right now. L8ER!

I just changed out my 3:55 for 4:10s and i love them. There isnt a really big difference but you can tell the truck picks up the speed a little quicker. As for as towing goes i would know, i haven't had to tow anything as of yet. But when i put the gears in it was like putting my tryck back to is stock performance because i have 33 on my stock 97 5.2. As far as the posi i think it comes standard with dakotas. So you might not have to change out the posi. But overall i think 4:10 are the way to go!

not to be a jerk but if you cant tell you dont need em. You obviously arent deep enough in the mud for it to matter. get mud up above your tires once you do that go get posi

aight man, i understand where ur comin from, no i dont do a whole lot of off roadin, i just want posi differentials, and then when i do go, then hey, i got it, right? and its also nice to have in rain, and snow too, so, b4 u think u know my drivin style, why dont u take a ride with me, and then make opinions?? L8ER
